I've almost got my Tri-Z ready to try and fire. All I lack is getting the exhaust pipe on, but I've got 2 questions.

1. the pipe has a bracket that holds it to the frame. Does this bracket go to the inside of the frame bracket or the outside?

2. the pipe has a round piece of sheetmetal about a half inch wide that I guess is the gasket...how do you get the damn thing on??? I tried putting it into the pipe but it won't slide onto the exhaust port. I tried putting it on the exhaust port but then there's nothing holding it compressed. I tried sliding it halfway in/out of the exhaust pipe so I could get it started over the exhaust port but one end of it kept getting pushed down first. :bash: :bash: :bash: WHATS'S THE TRICK?

The bracket goes inside the frame the exh. mounts inside the bracket. The exh. gasket is a two pease part one is the gasket the other is a insert that holed it to the pipe so it stays in place when you mate to the head. thats what it shows at partsfish for the 86 and a lot of the 2 strocks I've see are the same. hope it helps dan.
