where is the oil filter on a 86 200x i cant seem to find it????
How often do you change it????:confused:

I'm not sure exactly where it is on your bike, but look for a small cover with usually 3 bolts. you should change it every time you change your oil. you should also make sure you use motorcycle oil (not car oil) when you change it.

Not sure about the 86, but on te 83-85, you have to remove the entire right side cover to get at it...

It doesn't have an oil filter, it has a centrifugal oil "strainer". It's behind the right engine cover and has three Phillips head bolts holding the cover on. Good luck getting that cover off if it has never been off before. If not, it will probably take an air wrench to loosen it.
