i am changing my tires on my 200s to kenda bear klaws, I just got them in today. I never realized how thick and heavy they are. Will i lose a lot of power with these on? I have a 200x carb w/110 jet and will be adding dg pipe.

if they're those 6 or 8ply ones I'm thinking of then you will notice a difference in acceleration. my dad put some on my little brothers beartracker and it doesn't have the power it used to.

I read a interesting article about car tires the other day, that is also applicable to trike tires. Basicly, heavier tires act as a big flywheel, and the will reduce acceleration, and increase stopping force required. The point of the article (which was about autocrossing) was that on a limited horsepower vehicle, you want to run the lightest wheels and tires possible for max acceleration. It also recommended keeping the wheel and tire weight as close to the middle as possible.

I know my paddles are lighter than my knobbies, that might explain why I like them.

My cousin has them on his 87 trx350. Seem to give good performance on his. Not really effecting speed or acceleration it seems, he actually said he noticed an improvement

I just picked up a pair of them to have for a second set of tires for my Z. I bought them lightly used for $70 shipped. They look like beasts to me! LOL

these tires are beasts. I rode today on them for the first time on the trails. they are hard as hell even letting some air out they still beat the heck out of me today. i need a bike with rear suspension.

With a heavier tire you also have more unsprung weight flapping about on the end of the axles, but as you don't ahve rear shocks it doesn't really matter about that does it Matt? ;)
