xr200r 26mm keihin on 200x'jetting'

if anyone has put a 26mm keihin on their 200x and have mods such as hi- comp piston, cam and hi-perf exhaust what are the jets you are using?

the carb is clean, the motor fired right up after rebuild(2 kicks)
but doesn't idle smooth and surges at idle. i get no change when adjusting the idle mixture screw except maybe slightly higher rpm at fully closed which is supposed to mean too small of pilot jet and lean but the plug seems wet when i check after idling.

i have went from 35 to a 40 on the pilot jets with no difference, and do have a 42 yet. the pilot jet is supposed to control the fuel at idle right?

I can't help with regard to the jetting or setting-up the carb, but the surging at idle sounds to me like an air leak (BTDT). You may want to mix-up a solution of soap and water in a spray bottle and spray in the area of the carb and intake while the engine is running, then look for bubbles.

ooooooppppps , an intake leak at idle would be vacuum ,,, them your exahust would be blowing bubbles!!!!:D :D :lmao: :D

use starting fluid then if you notice a increase in rpm's it will mean you have a leak ,,,,,,,

:doh: Whoops! My mistake Kasey, give me some time, I've been away from three wheelers for a while :eek: Though I know I've used the soapy water method to check for intake leaks, maybe that's why my exhaust is always so shiny! LOL :D
