i think it would be that the pipe you have dosnt have a spark arestor or it got taken out.... i dont think it could hurt anythin but i could be wrong.....did you know that under all the caked on oil on my big red there is some real stock crome...i am so happy....spring cleaning...get a pic of the flames man...

it most likely because theres no muffler on it, most of the flames your seeing wouldn't shoot out if the whole system was there. It just unburnt fuel igniting in the pipe, nothing to worry about. was it dark or near dusk when you were running it? this could make the flames seem brighter. sometimes at night my 200x will shoot a few flames out, it doesnt have a spark arrestor though.

I don't think it's uncommon for them to blow a "flame" out of the headpipe. If it comes out of the muffler, then you'd better get a spark arrester!

When I first read your post, I thought you meant it had a muffler on it, but when I saw the pic, it made sense... :D

I wouldn't run it at ALL without the muffler because you'll burn out your valves without the back pressure!

with the headpipe on it it probably wont do to much damage to the valves...i hope
