big red question

I just rebuilt the engine on my '84 big red. I am having trouble getting the bolt holes on the frame to line up at the same time that my u-joint engages in my final drive. Do I need to take the rear end out or can the motor be installed like I am trying it? Thanks in advance

kind of like your doing it. put the shaft on then line up one bottom bolt. then work your way around till all the bolts are in.
or bolt eng in and then put the drive shaft on.
