Sounds to me like some thing is bent. Do your handle bars seem straight?. When the tire is pointing straight forward. Look at the front shocks from the front and then from the side. And see if you notice one being bent. Or maybe your tripple tree at the top of the shock is bent. When you are looking at the shocks from the side You shouldnt be able to see the shock on the other side at all.
and also a low rear tire will make it pull. will pull you right off the trail on a quick take off.
 if they are bent where can i pick up a set of forks cheap?

i have some 84 200x forks on ebay and some 83 250r forks in my storage
does any one know if either set of forks will work on 250sx?:booty:
Only if you chainge steering stems. But you will have to weld on a new kind of steering stop or your gas tank gets all dented in the front.:D

Some one had a bunch of parts on ebay for a 250sx. I dont know what is still up for sale. but you might have a look there.
is it more likley that the forks bent or that the clamps bent?

Usally it is the forks. But they should be pretty easy to see the bend. But like dads said. Get a low pressure tire gauge(if you dont allready have one). And check your tire pressure. Just having a few pounds difference in the rear tires will make the thing want to go more sideways then straight. And usally if something is bent enough to be that noticeable. It should be fairly easy to see and pin point.
this seams kined of stupid to me but i have to ask. How are the swing tail bearing. I've never had a slightly bent fork pull.
ok guy's checked air in tires its the same side to side . left side fork is bent about 1/4 ". so the question now is will 200x forks or 250r forks fit? mine are 29 1/2 " tall from the ground up to the top of the nut and they are 1.30 " diameter. if someone can mesure there 200x or 250 r I would be very grateful. thanks Bill

The 200x has the same length & OD as SX. you can use part from one for the other, but not the hole shock,
