ooops I spelled banshee wrong too:doh: yes it is real.it has 350x forks and is 80# lighter than a stock banshee. I found the pic in an old dirtwheels.

I'd say that due to the higher displacement as well as 15+ years of improved technology, and the reduced weight of the "Banshee" trike, that the Banshee would clobber the 250R. Now, could a 250R be hot-rodded enough to be a contender? Depending on what was done to the Banshee (as well as the 250R), I would think that's a possibility also...

I'm not saying I like the Banshee better (I know how sensitive you 250R types are :D )

well, this is my two cents worth, look at all of the hop up options on both of them, with the same amount of money in each, (not stock) as in 2-3000 they are both very close in over all top speed, im talking the 250r quad and the banshee, the quad and trike versions of the 250r are very similar engines, and most of the options will work on a trike also. the parts guys att he counters just dont want you to know that, any way, i think that if you spent the money on both machines, i think the 250r would severly kill the banshee, as it is already a trike and the ergonomics of it will make the handling with it hoped up alot nicer than on a converted machine. atleasst that is what i think because when you take a trike and make it a quad the handling sux, so i am geussing it is the same the other way.

I think the 250r would win here is why #1 the banshee dose not have advanced technology on its side quite the oposite the banshee is basically a late 70's earlly 80's streetbike motor adapted to a quad and Yamaha has done no major improvements to the motor since it first came out in a banshee #2 Dirt Wheels did a test in 93 to see how much it would take to make a banshee competitive with a stock fourtrax 250r the results 3,000.00 #3 the best 4wheeler still today is the 88/89 trx250r look at all the pro's that race them and nothing else (with a few exceptions) #4 the motor in a trx 250r is a detuned version of the atc 250r (stock vs. stock) #5 suspension the rear suspension on a banshee is not all that good and the forks on this conversion are NOT 350x forks look closly they are a trailing design the x are leading. (the only other way was if they used 83/84 250r sliders with 85/86 350x tubes but judging by travel unlikly) thats my opinion any way

i dont know what u guys think but my bashee riding friend nick poped 1 when he saw that pic.....ive been trying to get him to get a mans atv.....sell that banshee and buy a tri-z and spend the other 3 grand to fix it up...im telling him once its done itl tear up the bansee he has now.......anyway if that thing was kept stock and just had the front end changed to be a 3 wheeler it definetly would dust a stock 250r on a straight away...banshees hall ass on straight aways....but in a windy trail that thing wldnt go anywhere!:D :D :D :D :D :D

I repeat 350X forks are leading axel these are trailing axel unless they used 83/84 250R sliders on the X forks THESE ARE NOT X forks
