the keyway that goes on the crank, for the flywheel. they sell a keyway for a 400ex that advances the timing 6 degrees. i was wondering if it will fit my 350x?

thts a new one to me. i must admit i never heard of that mod for a 400ex.
anytime i want to advance the timing i do it with the cam sprocket

you mean, loosen the chain and turn the cam (which direction?) i know one will advances it, and the other retards it.

no i mean change the mounting holes (ever so slightly) on the sprocket or get a differant sprocket.

Are we talking ignition (spark) timing, or valve timing. Changing the cam sprocket will change the valve timing. The spark is timed off of the flywheel, so changing the key would change the spark timimg. I have read about advancing the spark timing, that honda set it conseritivly.

what do you mean by conseritivly? so its conseritive on gas or something? with your 360 kit would you reconmmend advancing spark timing? thanks

Its MR ATC's 360 kit, not mine.
By conservitivly, I mean that Honda ran the ignition timing at a point that was optimized for relibility, not for performance.
