I know the 83 200x swing arm had some weakness. That they had corrected on the 84/85 model 200x`s. My question is. Can i just put a 84/85 swing arm on it?. Or do you have to change your shock set up?. Or anything else to use the newer swing arm. Or can you run a 350x swing arm on it?. I have new bearing coming next week. And before i install them into my old 83 swing arm i thought i would see what you guys think.

Shoot i didnt see the post in time to get in on it. But if your 83 looked the same as your 84. Then some one has changed it allready. The 83 one used kind of a double tube running from the front to the rear. And the shock mounted right on the swingarm. Instead of useing one of them swivel mounts on the bottom of the shock to mount it to the swingarm like the 84/85s did.
what year had the square tube swing arm. i have one on a 84 200x

I think only the 86/87 models had the square frames.
some one else said they change the arm disign in 84-85
