I just bought a ATC 83' 110 that is near mint. The one problem that I can find, however, is the fact that the gas shut-off lever is broken off so I can't switch the fuel line off. Can any one think of any problems with leving the line "on" full-time. I know I'm rellying on the float and pin to keep the gas in the gas tank, but will this situation put added stress on the carb? shorten its lif-span?

The only time i turn my gas off is if i am pulling the carb off. Other wise it stays on for months. It wont hurt your carb any. But with the price of gas getting pretty spendy. You might want to make sure that it has a good needle valve in it. So that your gas dosnt all run out of the over flow. And if it does. you can get a whole new carb kit for around $15.00. Other wise keep your eyes on ebay i see fuel shutoff valves on there once in a while. But my biggest concern would be if the lever is in the on position or the reserve one. It would suck to be out on the trail and start running low on gas. And not be able to switch to reserve. So if you can take a pliers and try to turn it to reserve. So that you can use the whole tank full of gas if you need to. But just keep a eye on it on the trails. Because of not getting any warning to switch to reserve. You wouldnt want to run out of gas. But with the mileage these things get. It shouldnt be a big problem at all. Just fill up before you go riding. And you should be able to run it all day on one tank of gas.

Fuzzy, thanks for the advice. At what point does the "reserve" kick in? When the tank has 1/4 left?, 1/8th left?, or even lower than that?

on the 110 i would get a universal shut off and put it right in the line it has two lines running from the tank and if you put a shut off in both lines then if you run out you swap the lines. and you just changed from on to reserve!! I know myn is that way and it would be cheaper to do it with a universal shutoff then buying a hole new bowl. but good luck!

And just for grins and gigles dosent look like they make just the shut off or a bowl. looks like you have to buy the whole carb witch is like 160 bucks but will be cheaper through servicehonda.com
