Creek Crossing Series from last year

Here they are again, as requested!! In this shot, I had started about 50 yards upsteam of the trail to compensate for current.

Here I was getting worried the current would take me past the trail, to where we had already lost a Honda 450 Foreman...

Well, once you are in there you will find a way or have a wreck. Personally, it depends on the machine. This was the first time I had attempted THAT much water, plus, it was moving pretty fast!! That spring it had poured for three and a half weeks straight. The first sunny day that appeared, we were determined to give the rain the bird, so we went to the wettest place within a half hour drive. All the 4X4 quad guys said we would never make it, and there was NO way they were going. So you see, we HAD to go. I will post another picture to give you an idea of how wet it was. Any way, when I saw my buddy lose it on a 4X4 quad, (the one guy who was game) , and my other buddy make it on a 400 Polaris Sport, I HAD to make it. Common sense tells us not to fight the current any more than we have to, so I went up stream on land to cut the angle down for the crossing. That way, with my weight over one side, and back, it was easy to catwalk across. The engine, and more important, the airbox, don't get drenched. You should have seen that Foreman 4X4 when they finally got it winched up a bank!! Man, was THAT thing wet!! On the same day, we saw a tire being put back on a rim, AND re inflated with no air pump or tools. I can post a pic of that as well......... And in this area, there was one spot neither quad would go because of the mud, and the R made it through!! Granted, it was torture on the beast, but hey, its a Honda!!

Here is the "Gasloline Inflated Tire"!! Just LOOK at those guys CRINGE!! It does work!! This tire WAS half off the rim, and after the fire was put out, it had about 2.5 pounds of pressure in it!! Thats more than enough to finish the day!!

I've seen that done before with starting fluid. Mmm, love that burnt rubber smell.
